Nothing much was planned for this day except flying back to KK from Sandakan. After having breakfast at the top level of Sandakan Central Market, we walked around in the wet market area. There were rows and rows of stalls selling fresh produce, seafood, meat, sauces and anything else you need to put a meal together.

Beautiful seafood sold at the market
After that we walked up to the Agnes Keith House which we did not enter the first day we arrived. Initially the staff at the ticketing counter said that the ticket from the Sabah Museum was only valid for one day. But we told her that it was our last day in town and she eventually let us in :P
Agnes Keith House was originally the home of Agnes Newton Keith, an American author, and her husband. She had written several books detailing her encounters in Borneo, including Land Below the Wind which was made into a film. The house has been restored and the living room, dining room, study room and the bedroom were all furnished with colonial furnitures. It really felt like being transported in time! You can read all Agnes Keith, her family and her books from the display around the house. No photography or shoes allowed inside.
Our journey back to KK was NOT a smooth one. As our plane was accelerating on the runway, it came to a sudden halt and we were asked to get off the plane. Apparently there was something wrong with the plane and it was not fit to be flying. We ended up waiting in the waiting lounge for 2 hours before a rescue flight came and took us to KK. I was not feeling well so I slept through the most of the 2 hours but for many passengers it was not a comfortable wait. By the time we arrived in KK we were not in the mood to do much so we only strolled around the neighbourhood and had dinner after checking-in at Sarangnova Hotel.
